My Monday Morning Madness

Weekend is a scam. Really, it is. I can remember vividly, how excited I was on Friday, then in-between sleeping well and catching up on my favourite series, Monday reared its ugly head. It's like it just crept up on me from nowhere.

I wasn’t going to let Monday morning ruin the whole day, so I made a conscious effort to be happy, I adopted the old reverse psychology, and muttered to myself at intervals "I love Monday" 

Well, this plan was working well, up until the FRSC stopped me. Little advice for you all, avoid these people! Especially the lanky ones. It seems to me that there is a relationship between their weight and attitude. To be honest, the lankier the men are, the more annoying they are too. I was stopped by a very lanky one, what can I say? I gave Monday another chance and it blew it!

 

Madam your seatbelt...ok, you have that on (Me, in my mind, 1-0)

Can I see your license.....I have that too (2-0)

Turn on your lights.....That one sef dey (3-0)

Madam please show me your fire extinguisher (Gaddamit!!!).

But oga, doesn’t it count that I have the other things you asked for? Madam please you are going to our office!!!...sigh! He transferred me to his boss.

Thank God for a good Samaritan lady, she begged for me, they showed their power, we begged again, they told us their ranks in service, we begged again, they told us they are not standing under the sun to joke, we begged again, I could feel the lanky one rolling his eyes seriously, I kept on begging, then I was released! The lanky one was still angry, then my mind knocked his shiny head, since all my disgust and anger could only be expressed in my mind.

Got back to the office, tried to talk myself back into my "I love Monday " mood. This wasn’t working, so I told myself it could have been worse, and I thought about how the lanky officer is still standing under the hot sun...so I smiled. How mean right? Lol.

Hopefully, I won’t have a Monday morning madness to write about next week!
