The Simple Things...

Today I opened my system, stared at it for a long while and asked myself…Why I have not written in a while. And what do I even want to write about?
You see, sometimes life can get to you in so many ways that you don’t even have the time to do the simple things you love. It then got me thinking, I’m probably not the only one in this situation right now
We as humans get caught up doing so many things, if only we could take out time to breathe, we will realize that those things that take your time aren’t even so important. Most often than not, they are things we can live without, things that if we stop doing, we would still live very normal lives

At the expense of getting caught in the very unimportant things, we neglect the extremely important ones. We are too busy for that one minute phone-call to our parents or siblings and when they eventually call, even before we say hello, we will just yell “walahi you are not a bastard, I want just thinking about you now now” but the question is why didn’t you try to make them realize they have been in your thoughts?
Sometimes, we are too busy, we rush out of our homes and forget to tell the loved ones we leave behind how special they are and how empty our homes and lives will be without them. Then the drifting starts, the communication breaks, and suddenly we realize that we really can’t do without them, you look back to tell them “I love you” but their side of the bed is empty, the door is shut, they already walked away…
We have our cherished friends, in our hearts, we know how special they are…but damn, the workload is too much, we have a lot of things to cater to, till they become just memories and when you finally decide to call, the conversation is just awkward…very awkward. After asking “how u dey now?” over 10 times and trying to sound friendly with that high-pitched voice, we give up, say goodbye, hang up and realize we just lost a friend.
Life can get too much sometimes, no doubt but we should always remember we get out of life what we give to it. So every day, we should sow love, so much love, and see how much love we get in return and trust me you always reap much more than what you sow plus the load always feels lighter when you feel loved.
So people, call a parent today, spring up surprisingly on a friend today, say “I love you” to your spouse today. Whatever you do, just make sure, that feeling of love doesn’t just remain in your heart, Express It!!!
